GESTRA has worked for over 20 years as consulting engineers to the power industry. GESTRA performs geotechnical investigations and feasibility studies and geotechnical reports of concern to the electric/gas utilities industry. We have been serving the Power Industry since 2003. Our projects include work on dams, substations, and transmissions. Facilities, additions and renovations, helping companies manage the geotechnical risks and uncertainties of underground construction.
MMSD Annual Concrete and Soil Testing, Milwaukee, WI
GESTRA conducted soil and concrete testing on numerous MMSD projects throughout Milwaukee County.
Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) 195 Relocation
GESTRA’s scope for the project included performing subsurface soil borings along the alignment of the new outfall pipe. The challenge in the project was the variable soil conditions along the pipe. As the alignment traveled north the amount of depth of elastic silt soils became deeper.
Underwood Creek Rehabilitation & Flood Management, Wauwatosa, WI
GESTRA performed bearing capacity observation for foundations; conducted density testing GESTRA participated in the preliminary engineering phase of work by completing field investigations and laboratory testing working for the lead geotechnical engineer.
Kinnikinnic River Reach 2, Milwaukee, WI
GESTRA provided a review of the existing concrete channel and provided recommendations for future evaluations to be performed in the final stages of the project.
Wauwatosa Park
The Wauwatosa Park project is the conversion of the existing undeveloped lot at W. Gilbert Avenue and N. 116th Street. Based on information provided, the site was historically a landfill, but has since been closed and properly excavated.
