Business Development / Sales Manager - Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI
This position is responsible for actively searching for new business opportunities for construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and geotechnical/environmental drilling in our Milwaukee and Madison offices. The position receives direction from upper management; however, is required to make independent decisions in the best interest of the company and in line with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
• Develop and foster long-term client relationships.
• Utilize contacts in appropriate professional organizations to network with potential clients and develop an understanding of our firm’s competition.
• Work with the company staff to identify, qualify, organize, and deliver new business opportunities.
• Heavy prospecting with confident cold calling skills.
• Carry prospects and proposals to sale closing.
• Manage a list of strategic accounts that directly drive sales into the company
• Assist in preparing marketing materials including qualification packages, written proposals and other client submittals.
• Attending/participating in trade shows.
• Preparing sales reports and forecasts and write and follow-up on proposals.
• Maintaining sales database, recording all sales activity and relevant client information.
• Be knowledgeable regarding clients account status, assist in collection on problem accounts, and assess client’s payment viability.
• Travel as required.
• Performing other work as required.

Additional Info
• Past experience in the civil engineering or construction field.
• Associates degree or higher in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Must be self-motivated and assertive and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
• Possess excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, and superior presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft Office).
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Flexibility to travel and perform all functions inherent to the position.
• Associates degree or higher in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Must be self-motivated and assertive and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
